Tracking, Telemetry, and Command Studies of Ground and Satellite Subsystems Volume Ⅳ: Airborne Transponder Configuration Study

摘要

The report discusses the system requirements which reflect upon the design of CW satellite transponders. The Mariner prototype transponder and the Goddard Range and Range Rate Transponder are taken as currently operational examples of the state of the art. These two transponders are described in detail. Their primary advantages and disadvantages are noted.
