INDIVIDUAL DIFFERENCES IN TRANSCRIBING VOICE RADIO MESSAGES EMBEDDED IN ATMOSPHERIC NOISE

摘要

The present study was conducted to explore the question of whether there are stable differences among individuals in the ability to understand and trans ribe voice radio messages embedded in noise. Data used were collected in the course of related research on the effectiveness of voice-radio transcripts obtained using single and multiple transcribers at varying levels of atmospheric noise (Caste novo, Tiedemann, and Dobbins, 1963).
