This investigatioti was designed to compare the accuracy of rifles equipped with telescopic sights of high (6x, 8x) and low (2.5x, 4x) powers of magnification, when targets were pre¬sented for both short (2 seconds) and long (8 seconds) time intervals.nTwelve enlisted subjects fired a Kodiak .22 caliber magnum semiautomatic rifle equipped with a Bausch & Lomb "BALvar-8,rtelescopic sight.nWhen the measurements of marksmanship were analyzed, no significant differences were found between the various powers of magnification. Time-to-fire was a source of significant variation, with accuracy superior at the longer time interval.
