SCALE PARAMETER ESTIMATION OF THE GAMMA PROBABILITY FUNCTION BASED ON ONE ORDER STATISTIC

Certain life tests and roil ability studies deal with system components and elements nose failures may be modeled by the Gamma probability density function. Parameters of this function are the shape and scale parameters. Items placed on life test produce order statistics as they fail. An unbiased maximum likelihood estimator for the scale parameter of the parent Gamma probability density function (shape parameter known) is developed, based on one order statistic.
