This is the second quarterly report on work carried out under contract AF 33(657)-11199 during the period 14 August 1963 to 14 November 1963. The objective is to demonstrate the feasibility of fabricating microminiaturized evaporated circuitry for use with the low-power magnetic-film memory elements developed under contract AF-33(657)-6679nPassivated chip transistors with attached leads were obtained, and an evaporated bit driver incorporating these units was successfully operated. Several sense amplifiers were evaporated, and an improved amplifier is being designed. The design of a word-selection system was completed, and breadboard models of representative portions were con¬structed and tested with satisfactory results.nTechniques for the preparation of evaporated resistors were improved;resistance values car be reproduced to within +5. Capacitors were also successfully evaporated;capacitance values can be reproduced to withinnThe design of the memory array was modified to reduce interline coupling. Magnetic films with substantially reduced skew and dispersion were obtained.
