摘要

This report describes the second experimental phase of a combined theoretical and experimental study of condensible vapor lubricated bearings. Condensible vapors are an important class of process fluids, especially in closed -cycle power generating equipment. Their use as bearing lubricants promises the same benefits of equipment simplification, cleanliness, and freedom from sealing problems which accrue from the use of gaseous and liquid process fluids as lubricants. Under many practical operating conditions, condensation of the lubricant can be expected to occur within the bearing. There-fore, the vapor-lubricated bearing problem is one of two phase' flow with thermodynamics interactions.
