A Study to Determine the Deformation Characteristics of Beryllium and Tungsten under Conditions of High Hydrostatic Pressure

This study of deformation of tungsten and beryllium under fluid pressure by tensile, compressive, and fluid-to-fluid extrusion tests has yielded information on stresses and maximum de-formations as a function of pressure. Pressure has been shown to increase the number of modes of deformation of monocrysta 1-line berylliums There are provided accompanying analyses and suggestions for use in metalworking.
