INVESTIGATION INTO THE TUNGSTEN-RICH REGIONS OF THE BINARY SYSTEMS TUNGSTEN-CARBON, TUNGSTEN-BORON AND TUNGSTEN-BERYLLIUM

摘要

This report deals with the solid solid solubility of boron and of beryllium in tungsten, together with the attendant problems concerning the tungsten rich borides and beryllides in equilibrium with W, and which are liable to precipitate. Brief supplementary data are given of the W-C system, following the previous investigation.nThe study of the solubility of boron in tungsten shows this to be approximately 0.2 atomic B at 2500℃, decreasing with temperature.
