Specimens for this test consisted of 1/2 thick plugs ofnType K interlayer molded and cured in Glass tubes, Figure 1,nand small simulated windshield specimens, Figure 2. Some ofnthe 1/2" plugs of inter layer in. the tubes were pretreatednwith helium, Freon 11 or a liquid amine before determiningnthe rate of diffusion of SO2 gas through the plug ofninterlayer. The 6" x 6" windshield specimens were vacuum impregnated with various liquid amines before exposing them tonsunlight, moisture and 10% SO2.
