摘要

The objective of this work was to develop a fast solid-state ultraviolet detector. Efforts were concentrated on photovoltaic devices using metal semiconductor barrier layers. Peak directivities of the order of 109 cm cpsl/2/watt and time constants of less than 120 μsec were achieved with both ZnS (γpeak =339mμ)and TIO2 peak 320 mu). MgO was found to .be photoconductive when exposed to radiation of wave-length less than 260 mu. Trapping states in TiO2 were investigated by means of the method of space-charge-limited currents.
