BOUND THEOREMS. FOR RIGID-PLASTIC CONTINUA SUBJECTED TO CERTAIN CLASSES OF DYNAMIC LOADING

Continua composed of a rigid-plastic strain rate insensitive material subjected to some initial velocity distribution are considered. Two theorems, bounding the response time and the deflection at any point respectively, are presented. A physical interpretation of the bounds is given, and the accuracy and significance of the bounds are discussed.
