It may be well to describe briefly the purpose and organization of ADAM before discussing its language. The computers of the present generation have evolved to be larger and more powerful than their predecessors, but at the same time, their direct use is more difficult and costly. The designers of ADAM believe it is possible to build a computer which has an implemented.
