The specialty of providing a means for continuously recording biomedical data is a relatively new science baying its origin around the beginning of the twentieth century. The avalanche of new equipment and diagnostic methods that, have been presented to the field, of medicine has resulted in great strides forward in man's knowledge of his own physiology, but the utilization and application of automatic processing techniques in this field is Just now beginning.
