The mechanical and metallurgical properties of a 7Al-4Mo titanium alloy Gemini Main Landing Gear Strut forging 52-39057 were evaluated to insure conformance with MMS-124 requirements. The room temperature long transverse and short transverse tensile properties were evaluated in addition to the longitudinal tensile properties specified in .Mms-124. The Rockwell C hardness across longitudinal and trans verse cross section: of the forging was determined. The grain flow, micro structure, and chemical composition were determined. The chemical composition and longitudinal tensile properties, except for reduction in area, conformed to MMS-124. The short transverse and long transverse tensile tensile properties. except fox reduction in area, exceeded the required longitudinal properties.
