The basic concept of this contract was the manufacture of twenty (20) SPLICING TOOLS (Service Test Model) TL-674 ( ) /G (Burndy Corporation Catalog No. MR8-77) and twenty thousand (20,000) SPLICING SLEEVES (Burndy Corporation Catalog No. P2S22) similar to and incorporating refinements suggested by the SPLICING TOOLS and SPLICING SLEEVES developed by the Burndy Corporation, submitted to and approved by the Signal Corps under Contract No. DA36-039, SC-87226.nThe SPLICE and TOOL join two parallel pairs of Telephone Cable WF-16 ( ) /U in a single actuation of the tool.
