PSYCHOPHYSICAL ASPECTS OF IMAGE QUALITY-EXPLORATORY STUDY

摘要

This research study deals with relationships between psychophysical judgments of image quality and the actual physical variables of the imagery, as well as with relationships between the judgments and interpreter performance. The general hypothesis is that individuals are able to judge efficiently the overall quality of imagery and that this judgmental ability can be applied in a tactical set-ting to shortcut the need for measurement devices and the application of weighting formulas in assessing image quality.
