INCREASING THE MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF CASTINGS BY THERMAL TREATMENT OF THE METAL IN LIQUID STATE

摘要

Roentgenographic investigations of liquid metal solutions in the range of temperatures, lying above the liquids, point toward the existence of a structure approaching the structure off the metal in solid state. There are bases to consider the precryasation state of liquid alloys as heterogeneous at temperature, lying considerably higher than the temperature of formation of a structure of closest order. This heterogeneity is determined by the presence of undissolved foreign bodies and by the formation of concentrations of atoms of various components in these of any other points of the fusion (melt).
