摘要

The studies of the four process categories (material removal, addition, displacement and modification) continued along two lines: (1) Experiments to validate new process concepts were performed and experiment designs were formulated for material removal processes based on rapid oxidation, severe embrittlement, and cavitation erosion; (2) studies of fundamental principles that may play a role in future processes were continued, with emphasis on the role of diffusion and sintering in certain categories of material addition processes.
