TILLEX On The Control Of The White Root Disease Of Hevea An Experiment in Nigeria

The TILLEX treatment is not a preventive but a curative treatment. The application of an organo-mercurial fungicide such as TILLEX liquid serves the purpose of erad¬ication of the rhizomorphs and mycelium of Fomes lignosus left over after the me¬chanical cleaning of the diseased root system. The organo-mercurial compounds, notably TILLEX liquid, replace copper sulphate. In extensive laboratory trials copper sulphate at practical concentrations showed to be non-toxic to the growth of Fomes lignosus.
