Numerical Determination of Spheroidal Wave Function Eigenvalues and Expansion Coefficients

摘要

A method of calculating the eigenvalues and the expansion coefficients of spheroidal wave functions for the prolate and oblate case using a high speed computer is presented. Special emphasis is placed on a new explanation of the role the parameter n plays in the numerical determination of eigen¬values. Curves and tables of eigenvalues are included.
