A SIMPLE SYSTEM OF EVOLUTIONARY OPERATION SUBJECT TO EMPIRICAL FEEDBACK

Suppose that during the routine operation of an industrial process a series of modifications is tested one at a time. Any modification which yields satisfactory test results is immediately included in the process while any-modification failing the test is discarded and not retested. Suppose we are to continue the procedure for a total period L, which may be the whole life span of the process.
