Correlations developed between gravity anomalies and geologic and geophysical parameters were utilized for the prediction of gravity within the continental United States. The 2 degree x 2 degree mean free air anomalies predicted using the geologic-geophysical correlations had a mean error without regard to sign of 7 mgals and a r.m.s. error of 8.8 mgals. The predicted anomalies for 1 degree x 1 degree squares had a mean error without regard to sign of 10 mgals and a r.m.s. error of 12.9 mgals. (Author)
