Investigation of Alkyl Aluminum Compounds

The executed contract was received by Ethyl Corporation on 13 December 1963. Because of the close proximity of that date to the yearend holiday season, and the previously scheduled vacations for a number of personnel, work on the contract was not initiated until after 1 January 1964. During the first quarterly reporting period 13 December 1963 through 12 March 1964, work has been primarily limited to planning, scheduling, procedure development and evaluation and modification of same of the existing facilities at Ethyl Corporation to properly and safely adapt them to the tasks defined in this contract. It was not possible to embark on any of the storage stability determinations because of the delayed delivery of some Government Furnished Equipment and outside procurements. In addition, it was found necessary after the delivery of a number of pieces of Government Furnished Equipment to fabricate additional, identical units in our shop because of in complete delivery.nProgram planning, however, has proceeded to a point where the major program efforts have been defined, evaluated and concurrence of the project technical officer obtained. It is expected that the next re porting period will carry us well into the experimental storage stability determination and other aspects of this program.
