Experimental results of pressure, temperature, and strain measurements made on a series of five Type 304 stainless steel thick-walled tubes are presented in this report. The tubes were subjected to a high-temperature, high-pressure internal airflow at subsonic speeds by utilizing the Mach 4.4 hypersonic wind tunnel facility. All models were approximately 20 inches long with an internal diameter of 2.25 inches; wall thickness ranged from 0.482 to 1.0 inch. Average values of the stagnation pressures and temperatures varied from 60 to 450 psia, and 1400R to 2100R, respectively. Most of the data are presented in graphical form. In a subsequent PIBAL Report, these data will be used (1) to study heat transfer to the heated inner wall of the tubes, (2) to compare the predicted temperature distribution with actual measurements, and (3) to compare experimental strain data with calculations based on both constant and temperaturedependent physical properties of stainless steel.
