First Czech Gas Laser Put into Operation

摘要

Introduced is a gas molecular light generator, so-called laser, which produces a radiation of a wavelength of 1,153 microns. The experimental equipment consists of a silica tube provided with two oblique apertures (windows), filled with a helium and neon mixture and placed between two spherical mirrors. The discharge in the tube is excited by a high frequency generator. The emitted radiation is continuous and highly monochromatic.
