摘要

An investigation was conducted to develop a cermet coating for steel substrates that should have high wear reluctance. Occlusions of diamond particles in chromium plate can be achieved by adding this material to a standard bath in which electrodeposits are formed with only slightly altered plating procedures. The evidence for composite coatings is indirect: Substrates plated in this fashion have exhibited unusual wear resistance. An application of the methods described is indicated in the field of erosion- and corrosion-resistant coatings, as well as in the field of low-friction and wear-resistant surfaces. (Author)
