Pendulum with Liquid Filler-Instrument to Demonstrate Diurnal Rotation of the Earth

The contention is made that a load in a pendulum that has both liquid and solid components permits construction of a parametric pendulum with liquid filler. The liquidsolid load consists of masses which behave differently under the forces of the Coroilis effect. A pendulum is described that is in effect a compass, giving indication of the direction that is perpendicular to the true (geographic) meridian. The pendulum has a shell made of a ping-pong or tennis ball, fillers of mercury and water, buffers of rubber, and a suspending thread.
