摘要

During the course of a numerical integration truncation errors cay generally be expected to arise at every step of the integration. Such is the case with the Particle-In-Cell (PIC) process, which is one of a number of numerical schemes used at RAND to solve tine varying flow problems under the inviscid, adiabatic assumptions. A knowledge of the nature of the truncation errors which arise during the course of a PIC integration is highly desirable, for it is upon this knowledge that the behavior of a PIC program is predicted, and the program is altered to meet the requirements of a specific problem.
