1. The subject problem assignment under reference (a) was established for the purpose of developing a Qualified Products List of materials meeting the requirements of the proposed specification developed under reference (b) given in Appendix A of reference (c).n2. In order to keep the number of procurement specifications at a minimum to avoid the high cost of cataloging and maintenance, the initial approach taken in conducting this investigation consisted of directing attention to existing materials that may serve the same purpose as the material recommended by reference (b).
