This paper describes the construction of a water channel at the University of California at Los Angeles and its use for the investigation of the hydraulic analog of the Hartmann oscillator problem.nContinuous "shooting" water flow was found to be analogous to supersonic isentropic gas flow;a static depth of Proximately one quarter-inch of water appeared to be satisfactory with this channel.
