There is known the application in gas-turbine installations of a closed cycle as active gases with which in the course of the cycle the gas constant remains practically unchanged (for example, natural gas, inert gas, air, etc.).nThe special feature of the use in gas-turbine installations of closed cycle, in the role of active substances, of gas systems with a lessening in the process of completing the cycle, of the gas constant, proves first to be this, that since the gas constant in the turbine is substantially greater than the gas constant in the compressor, useful work of the cycle is obtained with the same ratio between the upper and lower temperatures of the active substances in the cycle, and second that as a result of the presence of a body of chemical reaction the processes of the gain and loss of heat occur in accordance with curves that are close to iso¬therms.
