Parent metal properties are only slightly affected by weld heat on repairs of 1.5inch lands. Values of 59,000psi can be expected with 90percent confidence for repaired 1.5inch lands. If 95and 99percent confidence is required,expected values for repaired 1.5inch lands are 57,800and 55,400psi. If land widths of 1.625inches and above are used,parent metal strength can be expected for manual welds followed by repair welds.
