摘要

Nonmetallic waterstops (polyvinylchloride (PVC) and natural or synthetic rubbers) were subjected to laboratory tests to determine effectiveness of waterstops of various designs and materials in retaining water, and tensile strength of various types of splices. A method for testing an entire splice in tension was developed and is given. A search was made by correspondence to determine if a more economical material than PVC could be used for waterstops.
