Far North Diesel Power and Space Heating Cost Study

摘要

A study was made to determine total representative costs involved in meeting power and heating requirements with diesel generators and dieseloil-fired heating equipment at arctic or neararctic sites. Data provided by the Alaskan Air Command and the Air Defense Command were utilized. The method of analysis employed included the amortization of capital expenditures as well as the assessment of annually recurring operating expenses. Cost figures for Air Defense Command DEWLINE sites and Alaskan Air Command remote sites are presented in tabular and graphic form for future use in evaluating the cost effectiveness of alternative power and space heating sources.
