Maps of the natural zoning of continents for the Physico Geographic World Atlas were prepared by the department of physical geography of foreign countries.nA study was made of the Antarctica's ice cap, and maps were compiled for the Soviet Atlas of the Antarctic continent and the Atlas of the "Estrus glaciers under the IGY program. Expeditions were investigating the "Ultraviolet climate of the USSR" under the program of the Ministry of Urban and Rural Construction.
