摘要

There has been a particularly rapid development of toponymics science in our country in the late few years. Toponymic materials are being collected, many articles on toponymics have been appearing in various publications, and efforts are being made to compile toponymics dictionaries. Under these circumstances an urgent necessity has arisen for a meeting of specialists of various kinds who are concerned with toponymics for the purpose of exchanging opinions on the major questions of toponymics science, and practical working experience.
