Screening and Evaluation of Low-Temperature, Fuel-Resistant Elastomers.

摘要

This interim report covers the work performed and preliminary results obtained in the screening and evaluation of low temperature fuel resistant elastomers. Under the following four phases: hase I-screening and evaluation of various elastomers to determine resistance to aromatic fuels and serviceability at temperatures to -65 F: Phase II-compounding studies of elastomers selected from Phase I work. Studies directed toward improvement of low temperature and fuel resistance properties. (Work to be initiated upon completion of Phase I): Phase III-evaluation of a compound developed by ERDL. To determine conformance with requirements of MIL G-1086C: Phase IV-evaluation of resistance of low, medium, and high acrylonitrile rubbers to fuels containing increasing amounts of aromatic hydrocarbons.
