摘要

The surface chemical techniques previously reported for the removal of oily contamination, sea water, and fresh water from electronic and electrical equipment after flooding are not designed to remove the corrosion products which often form on some parts of equipment after salt water exposure. Thickened 'paint-on' spot-cleaning compositions were developed for the removal of such corrosion from aluminum, copper, brass, steel, cadmium plate, and zinc plate. The formulations employ solid chemicals to the maximum extent possible, the solids being combined with water or commercially available mineral acids just before use. The use of such aggressive cleaners may advantageously precede the surface chemical treatment described previously. (Author)
