This investigation included the effect of (1) resinpigment ratio, (2) coating thickness, and (3) wearing away of the film on the corrosion protection provided by solid lubricant coatings. These factors were investigated as possible approaches to improvement of the corrosion inhibition provided by MIL-L-46010(MR) type solid film lubricants. This improved corrosion inhibition was to be obtained at no sacrifice in wear life.
