The work of A.S. Dimitriyev and N.S. Kosovo [9] has shown that the adaptation achieved by vestibular training is only relative. It was ' found that good vestibular training causes deinhibition of more precise differentiation during the postrotation period, while coarser differ-entiation remains stable. The speed and duration of rotation proved to be important in this respect.nThe work described herein is part of the research being conducted at the Laboratory, which pertains to the ontogenetic and phylogenetic aspects of the vestibular function (Obraztsova [ll]). It was intended to elucidate the influence of preliminary rotation on an induced system of two motor conditioned reflexes, which differed in the direction the animal was to take in running a maze.
