摘要

To determine if any retention of corticosteroids is observed with any particular fraction of thymus, brain and heart cell of normal rats at different age and to see whether characteristic patterns could be demonstrated which may be related to the physiological action of ster¬oid hormones.nThe interaction of Cortisol and corticosterone with cytoplasmic fractions is greater than with nuclear fractions especially for thymus and heart cell. The binding of corticosterone with all the fractions and the total homogenates obtained from rats of different age is higher than that observed with Cortisol.nA characteristic pattern showing a low binding affinity for 45 days old rats is observed in the interaction between the steroid hormones and some fractions for animals of different age. This suggests the presence of a steroid-binding protein component, common to the var¬ious fractions but in different concentrations varying with the age of the animal and the particular tissue under study.
