OBSERVATIONS ON KIDNEYS OF DESERT AND SWAMP ANIMALS II. STEREOLOGY OF THE RENAL CORPUSCLES OF DESERT AND SWAMP DEERMICE

摘要

In the present study a comparison of the renal corpuscles of closely related desert and swamp-dwelling mammals was sought in order to shed light on the role of these structures in maintaining water balance. The stereological approach, because of the precision which it offers, was chosen as the logical means of attacking the problem.
