Potentiometry, a polarisation end-point method and differential electrolytic potentiometry were investigated for sensitivity of end-point indication for the routine argentometric determination of up to 50 micrograms of chloride ion. A small volume and high acetone concentration were necessary for optimum indication by the three methods. Potentiometry and differential electrolytic potentiometry required ca 30 min for a titration; polarisation end-point required ca 10 min. End-points were clearly indicated without plotting curves to plus or minus 0.07 micrograms with 0.004N silver titrate as titrant. (Author)
