摘要

It is first assumed that a constituent particle in an electron gas (or a fully ionized gas) interacts with more than one particle at the same time and that the mutual interactions among these particles are simultaneously significant. Directing attention to the usage of the hypothesis of equal a priori probabilities, the plausibility of customary methods considering the B-B-G-K-Y hierarchy for the basis of deriving kinetic equations for electron gases is investigated. Conditions imposed upon the hierarchy do not seem consistent with the assumption set forth above. Main questions are raised regarding (1) the assumption of characteristic time scales and (2) the assumption that a set of multiple interactions are, in effect, equivalent to a superposition of binary interactions. The situation is similar regarding other theories advanced hitherto without being based on the hierarchy. (Author)
