Test of a Patented Technique for Dissipating Fog and Low Clouds

The patented technique of releasing a mixture of liquid carbon dioxide and methyl alcohol from a fire extinguisher to dissipate fog and low clouds was tested under varying conditions of fog and low clouds. Of the 28 tests conducted there was no evidence that fog would be dissipated to permit aircraft operations at a terminal. Cumulus type clouds dissipated in four instances after liquid carbon dioxide and methyl alcohol were released in the clouds. (Author)
