Synthesis and Investigation of Properties of Certain Homogeneous and Mixed Polybenzimidazoles

The synthesis of a number of homogeneous and mixed polybenzimidazoles was carried out and their properties were investigated. The polybenzimidazoles were prepared by polycondensation of 3,3'-diaminobenzidine with the diphenyl esters of the following dicarboxylic acids: isophthalic, terephthalic, sebacic and bis-(p-carboxyphenyl)methylphosphinic oxide. An attempt was also made to obtain fluorine - containing polybenzimidazole from the same tetramine and diphenyl perflouroadipate. (Author)
