Results are given of a study of the textures of liquid crystals which had been vitrified in the form of films. Substances of the smectic (protagon), nematic (ethyl p-n-dimethylaminobenzene-1-aminonaphthalene-4azobenzoate) and cholesteric (cholesteryl cinnamate) types were examined.
