The papers included in the present collection describe research which is especially concerned with early changes in different aspects of an organism's activity during acute radiation injury. These works are particularly interesting, since they are the result of a comprehensive study of the early responses (bio¬physical, biochemical, pathophysiological, hematologic, histochemical) which took place in a general experimental modal of acute radiation sickness.nSuch a comprehensive handling of the problem by various specialists is conducive to a quicker understanding of early mechanisms and allows a more rapid solution to the problem of early diagnosis of radiation disturbances.
