In the disinfection laboratory of our institute, investigations on the use of artificial aeroionization and the study of its effect on microorganisms have been carried out since 1961. This report contains a brief analysis of the results obtained.nThe intake of air from the chamber was realized by a Rechmenskiy bacteria trap. In the tests we used an AIR-2 electrical aeroionizer working on the principle of corona dis¬charge (17 tests), and the Shteynbok radium aeroionizer. The results of the tests were evaluated according to the number of colonies of Staphylococcus aureus which grew following seeding of the air probes on petri dishes with meat-peptone agar.
