A LOW-NOISE, MULTIPLE-FUNCTION, X-BAND TRAVELING-WAVE TUBE

摘要

The purpose of this program is to develop a low-noise, multiple-function, metal-ceramic travel ling-wave tube that may be operated simultaneously as (1) a linear, low-noise, X-band amplifier; (2) a limited-output, X-band amplifier, and (3) a video-detector-amplifier. No known tube has hitherto been capable of performing such a combination of functions. If the program is in a large measure successful, the tube should be capable of replacing an existing, conventional traveling-wave tube currently used in the system.
